Who can forget laying eyes on the beautiful coloured lights on a Christmas tree, with it's varying colours and shapes and sizes. Most likely, they were incandescent lights on that pretty tree. One of the issues with incandescent lights though is that they can sometimes cause fires because of the large amount of heat used and wasted during their operation. Which brings us to led tree lights. Led tree lights is a fairly recent development, we surely didn't see them as popular options when we were growing up on our Christmas tree. But technology has changed and the lights changed with it. The led tree lights are now becoming a viable option.

The structure of led lights are better built for durability.They are perfect for outdoor use. They could handle more abuse from nature such as heavy rains and snow. This exceptional structure also leads to their longevity. The led lights, when on a tree or anything else for that matter, last a lot longer before burning out. Traditional incandescent tree lights last less than half the time of the led lights. We all know how trees look with a handful of burned lights.
On the safety front, it has shown that 14 people died one year as a result of the heat emitted by traditional tree lights , thereby causing fatal fires. The tree used may be dry and the excess heat can result in disastrous results. It must be noted since we use tree lights for many other reasons throughout the year this is something to take heed during the year. Sometimes to add some panache to the environment we sometimes use old and faulty traditional lights for decoration. The danger of overheating can be reduced with the led tree lights which use lower energy and as a consequence, less heat. Since the build is typically stronger, there would also be less likelihood of fraying.
Led lights are typically more expensive than their traditional counterparts, however, in relation to tree lights, led tree lights are pretty much around the same price. It isn't much brighter than incandescent lights and some give a cool, solid glow rather than the more harsh and striking traditional lights. This isn't really a negative though and the led tree lights win out due to their efficiency, durability, reliability and safety.
