LED emergency lights are portable devices that are used in emergency situations when they arise. Such situations may include power shortages caused by hurricanes, tornadoes and at times floods. The lights are made in such a way that they can withstand rough conditions that may occur while in use.
The design of the LED emergency lights should be such that they make tasks of the security personnel easier. There is the advantage of a variety such that they are designed in a number of sizes and come in different structures and at the same time keeping the needs of different types of emergency response vehicles in mind. A special license is required to design these lights, because there are rules in regard of the intensity of the light that is emitted and the flash patterns.
The lights can either be attached permanently or temporarily but it all depends on the decision of the emergency response personnel. The most common permanent LED emergency lights are the large light bars. Vehicles such as police vehicles, fire trucks and ambulances have these light bars that are commonly used when they approach a dense traffic zone or navigating through the city. Some of the light bars can be programmed in such a way that they display warning messages, directing the traffic to so that they can avoid the emergency roads and sudden diversions. It may consist of a large screen that displays the messages and a light bar that blinks at several intervals.
The varieties of the small and portable light sources are more when compared to fixed models. LED emergency lights that are small are preferred since they have a greater flexibility when compared to the fixed models because they are portable and can also be used in a number of circumstances. These lights are constant companions of patrol cars because they act as hand held light sources when needed. Patrol cars do have the light bars fixed on top of them but the portable lights are necessary in them as they act as a back up and emergency light source. Portable lights as said earlier come in a variety such as the dash lights, mini light bars and store lights and much more.
There are a number of ways in which the LED emergency lights can be powered up. They can really last long because they are LED lights once they are charged. The smaller portable lights can be charged by plugging them into a power outlet that is close. For a very quick recharge, they can be connected to the sockets that are in the emergency response vehicles which are enough to last it for four hours. The larger units are usually connected directly to the emergency vehicles emergency systems and in such a way they can be used constantly without worrying about charging. They can also be used when the vehicle is in a stationery situation due to the fact that they do not drain out the batteries of the vehicle. It is also important to have a performance guarantee so that the emergency lights are replaced without the need of incurring additional costs when they are not performing efficiently.
All these qualities leave with no doubt that the LED emergency lights are powerful and long lasting in the field of emergency situations.
